Fine Arts Festival is right around the corner.  For those who are not familiar with Fine Arts...

"Fine Arts Festival is a discipleship tool of national youth ministries designed to "help students discover and develop their ministry gifts."

Beginning in September each year, over 70,000 junior and senior high school students begin preparing their entries for the District and National Fine Arts Festivals. Students may enter as many as 35 of the 52 categories offered in 7 main divisions: Art, Communication, Drama, Exhibition, Instrumental, Vocal, and Writing."

Basically, if you have a talent that you would like to glorify God with, come out to Fine Arts & submit your song, your sermon, your drama, and/or your art to a panel of judges who will critique your entry.  If chosen to be advanced, you could go on to the National Fine Arts Festival held in Charlotte, NC & be in line for college scholarships.

Our NJ District Fine Arts Festival will be held on April 26th, however, registration for the event will be due into the office by March 19th.  The event will be held at Evangel Chapel in Bridgewater.

For more information & rules/guidelines for entries, go to www.faf.ag.orgIf interested, contact the youth office ASAP!!!

TIME IS RUNNING SHORT, SO BE SURE TO GET INVOLVED TODAY!!!!!!!!!

Winter Retreat 2008

What to bring:  Please remember, yes, you will be away from home for three entire days, but this does not mean you should bring everything but the actual dresser from your room.  The bus we’ll be taking to Retreat is only so big and cannot contain everyone's ENTIRE wardrobe from home.  Therefore, pack appropriately, but try to keep it light.  Some things to DEFINITELY not forget:  B-I-B-L-E (yes that's the book for me), notebook (you might want to write down some stuff from the weekend), clothes, WARM clothes (it is winter and we might be snow tubing, however, it can get hot during services, so layers are good, extra socks), pajamas, WARM pajamas, sleeping bag / sheets / pillow / etc. (no you will not be sleeping on the floor, but you need it for the bunk...), toiletries (deodorant, toothpaste, soap, shampoo/conditioner, towel/washcloth, flip-flops [for the showers], etc.), flashlight (the bathrooms can be pretty far from your cabin and it does get dark out pretty early...), money / snacks (money for food on the way up/down, & snacks for the trip), whatever else you can think of…

What NOT to bring: ANYTHING of extreme value (i.e. diamond rings, 10 karat gold necklaces, $100 bills, dad's credit card, etc.), pets (leave Sparky at home), NO electronic devices of any sort (cell phones are allowed, but ONLY for you to call mommy & daddy)…

PLEASE NOTE: ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE NOT ALLOWED…  (i.e. iPod, mp3 player, dvd player, CD player, cassette player, television, VCR, Gameboy (or any other handheld toy)... [if it requires headphones or batteries or a plug or solar power...DON’T BRING IT!]

We are looking at returning to the church on Sunday by 5pm...
