21 Day Fast - Pray for Healing
Posted on 08 Sep 2008 By: kristin
What happens when we FAST?
- Addictions Broken
- Unsaved loved ones won for Christ
- Spirtual strongholds & demonic forces defeated
- Sicknesses healed
- Sensitivity to the Spirit
- Preparation for new anointing
- Marriages restored
- Clear direction for decisions
- Spiritual gifts released
- Financial breakthroughs
- Enlarged future vision
- Health renewed
There is a song by Pocket Full of Rocks called Heal, in it sings of the scripture found in Psalms that reads.."He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions!" Psalm 107:20
How amazing that is. God can heal us through His word. Fasting is just a strange diet unless you directly tie it to prayer and the reading of God's word. So, this week I would like us to focus our readings and prayer on healing. So many of us will see that through fasting, our own health will become better. Our fast will give birth to physical and spiritual renewal. But, not just us... let us remember to pray for friends and loved ones that are sick. I know that Tuesday Megan and I will be doing an absolute fast for Misty Leblanc(www.leblanclife.com) for her MRI appt. Let us join as the body of Christ meditate on healing and lets see God move. Please add your comments on the button below, share testimonies, suggestions, prayer requests or your thoughts, its easy. Meg and I wrote a 3 page article on fasting if you wish to get it email me on the contacts page and I will forward it to you. God bless all of you as you take time for the Lord!!

WHO WANTS MORE OF GOD?
21 Day Corporate Fast at Calvary Lighthouse
Starting Monday, September 8th and Ending Sunday, September 29th
WHAT IS A FAST?
Abstaining from food for a spiritual purpose
Proven since Bible times until today to bring breakthroughs in areas that regular prayer and service does not.
Check out the website once a week during the 21 day fast for more teaching and inspiration for your journey.
Many religions including Jews and Muslims fast for prolonged periods of time. In fact, even many health conscious people these days participate in regular fasts to cleanse and detox their bodies. If we serve the Creator of the universe who is above all other gods and beliefs, imagine the spiritual power and breakthroughs that will come when we fast and pray- not to mention the health benefits we will experience for our bodies, the temple of the Holy Spirit.
THREE TYPES OF FASTING:
THE ABSOLUTE FAST
- Should only be done for short periods of time
- Food or water is not taken in
- Depending on health, this fast should be attempted with medical consultation & supervision
THE NORMAL FAST
- You typically go without food of any kind for a certain number of days
- Drink plenty of water
- Depending on length, you may choose to take clear broths or juices to maintain your strength.
THE PARTIAL FAST
- Can be interpreted in many ways. Typically, a person eliminates certain meals, foods and/or drinks from their diet. For example, James and Shirley Dobson of Focus on the Family fast and pray one day a week for their children and grandchildren. You too may choose to do an absolute or normal fast one day a week indefinitely for a specific cause.
- Does not include just when you are sleeping.
- Does not include giving up other activities such as tv, cell phone use, video games etc.. Although God will honor sacrifice and no activity should take precedence over time with Him, the biblical basis for fasting is regarding giving up food.
